Nikki Hart - Biography
Nikki Hart hailed from the industrial north of Manchester England graduating with a 1st (BA Hons Textile Design) 2004. Her final Degree show won her the Catch colour award and her clothing collection was chosen for the London Graduate Fashion week recieving overwhelming response from the media and interest from John Richmond.
Nikki has a vast and diverse work and travel background ranging from figurine paintress to card/giftwear design for Hallmark, interior design, swimwear design for Spoogie in New York and manufacturer Mavel designs to diverse freelance artist and designer.
You can often see the strong influence of travel, fashion, textile design and illustration in her work aswel as influences from artists such as Toulouse Lautrec David Downton and sonia delaunay.
Upon graduating Nikki embarked on a diverse trip around the world only popping back to sunny england to attend exibitions for her artwork, visiting North America,Central America,many places in Europe,Africa, South Pacific islnds and Thialand, Sydney, Yasawa and the main islands in Fiji,Rowatonga,Aiututaki,Aitu in the Cook Islands, Santo and Tanna in Vanauatu, Maui in Hawaii,Panama,Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatamala,Belize,Mexico and Colorado.the list never ends and is continually growing,her trips give her endless inspiration.
'It is so important for an artist to travel and I feel very fortunate to have given myself the freedom at this point in my life" it was on her trip to maui she had a meeting with fashion designer Maggie Coloumbe who gave her the insight on what it takes to be an individual in the fashion industry. Nikki continues to push the boundries with her artwork and designs. The current push for Her artwork is exploring the erotic foundations of sexual and sensual art. This creative endeavor is about becoming grounded and open to the female and male form. In art her vision is to continue to push and open up the ideas of what is erotic not porn and in fashion it is to offer more sensual simple designs revealing how exquisite the human body is in all its allure and temptation.
