Nikki Hart is a Cheshire based artist. She graduated in 2004 from Manchester metropolitan university with a 1st class honors in Textile design and winner of the catch colour award.
Her style and subject of work is varied and ever expanding ranging from animals, landscape, cityscape, erotic and abstract. She takes in all that surrounds her as visual inspiration and sees colour in everything however with artists such a Toulouse Lautrec, Egon Schiele and David Downton as her main influences it is no doubt why her work is often bright illustrative and fun. Her love of illustration and textiles and a background in design lends a hand when Nikki is adapting many of her pieces of her art onto silk which is then cut, roll hemmed and transformed into beautiful silk scarves and outerwear.
Other artists such as Mark Rothko and Ben Nicholson give her inspiration for her abstract pieces. Where she often plays with texture, colour and incorporation of found objects such as metal, sequins stones and beads.
